Status on 3/27/2009

Hi Everyone. I just want to let you know that new features are complete. I am happy with the code. However, I just want to test it for a couple of days before I submit the update to apple store. There are basically 4 new features. Here they are...

1. horizontal swipe. you can move from page to page by doing horizontal swipe. It is probably not the fastest way. But it is seems better at simulating turning a page in paper dictionary.

2. Accelerometer integration. You can now tilt your phone to turn pages.

3. Preferences setting. All the new features can now be turn on or off.

4. There is one surprise feature. I hope that you guys will like it. I won't say anything for now.

Introducing iKamus & eKamus

iKamus & eKamus are Indonesia English and English Indonesia dictionary. Unlike other electronic dictionary application, iKamus & eKamus are designed to recreate one's experience using a pocket book dictionary. Remember! There is not word search function in your pocket book dictionary. You will need to turn the pages to find your word. Yet, along the way, you peek at other words and learn about them too. The experience is priceless.

In iKamus & eKamus, you will not use keyboard to search your word. You won’t have to remember how to type the exact spelling of your word. You look for your word with touch, swipe, drag and scroll your pages. While looking, you have a chance to learn other word too. It is made possible by taking advantage the revolutionary iPhone touch interface.

iKamus & eKamus plan to be available for download from apple store. We are currently waiting for our contract approval with Apple.

Here is a video of eKamus in iPhone simulator.

And here is eKamus in action in real iphone. It is a little bit different from the simulator on the page transition. The device support page peel animation.
